Ibrahim keeps pot boiling

Brighouse Town made it five wins from seven games in April thanks to Mohammed Ibrahim's added-time goal last night.

Ibrahim’s 20-yard shot gave Vill Powell’s men a 3-2 home win over Ramsbottom United and lifted them to fourth-from-bottom of Evo-Stik North.

Town are finishing a largely disappointing season with a rattle and a victory in their last match at Droylsden on Saturday could move them up another four places.

It looked plain sailing for the Hove Edge side when they strolled into a 2-0 lead with goals from corners.

Adam Field got the first on 22 minutes after meeting Dan Grimshaw’s delivery at the near post and Aaron Martin headed a second from Isaac Marriott’s centre four minutes after half time.

However, mid-table Ramsbottom replied through Jerome Wright on 56 minutes and Gregg Daniels hauled them level from the penalty spot 11 minutes later.

Town’s hopes of an eight-day home hat-trick looked to have perished but Ibrahim’s strike in the second minute of stoppage time just beat the despairing United ‘keeper.
