Halifax Irish Club made it two wins out of two in the West Riding County Amateur League’s top flight with a 6-3 win over Campion Reserves last night.

They were making it two wins in five days at West Vale after hitting back from 3-0 down to beat Golcar United 4-3 at the weekend.

Brighouse Old Boys and Huddersfield Amateurs each have just one point after their opening two West Yorkshire League games.

Old Boys lost 3-1 at home to Horbury Town in the Premier Division last night, a disappointment after their creditable 1-1 draw at Leeds City at the weekend.

Elland side Huddersfield Amateur, promoted to Division One as champions, started with a 1-0 defeat at Boroughbridge last Saturday.

They created four one on ones in the first half but could not convert any and the home side scored the only goal with 10 minutes left.

Last night they drew 2-2 at home to Hartshead FC.

All of the goals came in a 10 minute period midway through the first half. Hartshead scored following a hopeful long ball which caught out the home defence.

Matty Parker levelled within two minutes and almost immediately Sam Clarke scored directly from a free kick after good work from Chris Hockin.

Five minutes later a carbon copy of the visitors’ first goal was scored.
