Taylor earns Brighouse a point

Brighouse Town’s lead at the top of the Evo-Stik NPL’s first division north table is down to two points after they were held 0-0 at Prescot Cables yesterday.

It could have been worse, however, because the hosts failed to convert a penalty in first half injury time.

Tom Taylor was the hero for the visitors, saving Dale Wright’s spot kick.

Brighouse probably had the better of the chances but both defences stood firm.

Bamber Bridge, Tadcaster Albion and Lancaster City all won to close the gap on Brighouse.

Lancaster beat Farsley Celtic, who dropped to fifth and are Brighouse’s opponents at Hove Edge on Monday.
