FORMER Todmorden man James Lambert takes part this weekend in the Masters European Ski Jumping Championships in Zurich and he is hoping to come home with a medal.
James, 46, who now lives in Norway, will be with the Norwegian team and has been training for the last few weeks on the 105m Midtstu artificial jumping hill in Oslo.
“This year’s summer preparation has been primarily based on flight and take off co-ordination, lots of balance and weightlifting during days off,” said James.
“It’s been red hot here. It’s hard to train in our full ski jumping gear.
“Tt’s the same gear which is designed for winter use - anyway it helps keep my weight down!” he said.
