WOODHOUSE manager Mathew Town ended his reign with a defeat but looked back at a successful time with the club.
“I want to go back to just playing,” said the 31-year-old who has guided Woodhouse to a cup success and promotion in two seasons.
He was happy with a fifth-place finish to the league even though it ended with defeat by the champions and followed up their cup final win over Woodhouse three weeks ago.
The visitors though outplayed the champs for much of the game and went ahead after 20 minutes when Oliver Wood latched on to a through ball and fired it home.
Woodhouse created other chances but could not put them away before the break.
In the second half Gardeners hit back and levelled after 20 minutes before grabbing two quick goals near the end.
Manager Town was still pleased with the performance and hopes to be playing for the team next season.
He believes the side he has created can build on their performances and challenge for promotion.
