Todmorden’s wheelchair table tennis player Megan Shackleton is celebrating winning a national title and a silver medal for Great Britain.
Megan was in a class of her own among the juniors at the British Championships in Grantham, an event which included all senior GB players.
She had 3-0 wins over all her opponents, including fellow GB pathway squad players, and was voted junior player of the tournament.
After a day back at Todmorden High School, Megan set off with the GB squad for the Italian Open in Lignano. She competed in the team event, which consisted of four singles matches and one doubles.
GB were pipped to the gold by a Serbia side who included the number one and five players in the world, by 3-2.
Megan’s mum Jayne said: “As you can imagine Megan was thrilled to win her first international medal and she also celebrated her 15th birthday whilst away in Italy.”
