BOROUGH Bears grabbed an early advantage and then hung on to win in the latest series of games in the Todmorden Netball League.
Their opponents, Giants, started slowly and let Bears get a too big advantage and they held on to win 17 - 12.
Giants seemed to take a good 10 minutes to get into the game and connect as a team.
Once they gelled they pulled back to within a few goals but could not manage to close the gap.
Lions with only six players lost 9 - 7 to Panthers, who had taken an early lead.
In the second half Lions fought back and with some accurate shooting managed to gain some goals but could not quite catch up.
It was a slow match due to Panthers GA having to go off so GS was left by herself in the goal circle.
Panthers passing and footwork were poor in the second half and they should perhaps have won the game by more.
Twisters gained an early advantage due to Rangers having a number of players playing out of their usual positions.
But in the end Rangers experience told and they ran out comfortable 21 - 9 winners.
Windies dominated the first half of a fast paced match by picking up on some of Terriers poor passes.
At half time Windies were two up but came back on court with a player down.
Terriers took full advantage, sharpening up their passing and won the match 14 - 10.
