IN the first series of matches in the Todmorden Netball League, Lions Pride edged away from Giants to win 12 - 7.
The fast paced match started close but the Lions pulled away in the second half with some great shooting.
Unfortunately for Giants they had several players playing out of position.
Pink Panthers just pipped it 14 - 13 in an excellent match with Windies.
Panthers led in the first half with some quick balls into the circle.
Windies settled into their game and had a strong second half.
They managed to pull back a five-goal difference to make it a close score.
They just missed out on levelling the game near the end, but felt it had been a good team effort in an enjoyable game.
Terriers dominated the game against Twisters, running out convincing 21 - 4 winners.
They took an early lead with some fast passing and interceptions. Twisters kept on fighting and made some good interceptions but it was too little too late by the end of the match.
Although Twisters won the first centre pass Terriers soon gained possession and scored 11 unanswered goals by half-time.
It was a better second half from Twisters with some good passing resulting in scoring, but the excellent shooting from Terriers soon saw them pull further away.
Jammys’ experience told as they convincingly beat Bears 21 - 8.
It was a learning curve for Bears, who were fielding a number of new players and while their passing game flowed the more experienced team won.
Rangers had no game.
