TODMORDEN Angling Society’s club match last Sunday was fished on Townhouse by 12 members.
John Mellor ran away with first place with a 54lb 4oz catch of carp using pole and meat. Second was Steve Hall (30lb 4oz) ide/roach caster and third Chris Lett (26lb) carp.
The open match on Croft was fished in the rain by 10 anglers and it was a much closer thing.
The result was: 1, Pete Mottram (34lb 12oz) carp pole/paste); 2, Mick Clegg (32lb) ide/roach caster; 3, Graham Mallinson (30lb 4oz) carp pole/meat.
Last Tuesday’s match on Croft saw Tom Barlow take first place with 32lb carp on pole/meat. Dean Turner (21lb 12oz) was second, Steve Hall (21lb 12oz) ide/skimmer caster was third and Rob McKendry (21lb 10oz) was fourth.
Next Tuesday’s match is on Croft and the next club match is at Cliviger on Sunday. The next open match is on August 14 (Croft) and the junior match at Croft is on August 5.
Last Sunday’s open match on the canal (Summit section) was fished by 17 anglers.
The result was: 1, Martin Taylor (Trabucco Halifax) 18lb 6oz, 8 bream, ledgered corn; 2, Stuart Campbell (Trabucco Halifax) 10lb 14.5oz, 4 bream worm; 3, Frank Szakaley (Mauer) 8lb 9.25lb, one carp meat.
