Sponsorship deals for Todmorden cricketers

Todmorden Cricket Club, has received sponsors during the run-up to this season’s campaigns, thanks mainly to the efforts of Todmorden first team all rounder Andrew Sutcliffe.

Andrew has secured sponsorship for every first and second team member from a diverse group of people.

This year’s professional Qaiser Abbas has been sponsored by Hussain Brothers and pit stop of Todmorden. First team captain, Simon Newbitt, has been sponsored by Mach Tech Services Ltd, second team captain, Stuart Priestley by Kaydian Furnitures and third team captain David Hatton by H and B Motor bodies.

Andrew said he was very grateful for the sponsorship deals he had received on behalf of the players, and the chairman of cricket Mark Clayton thanked all the sponsors and he hoped that the town would benefit from a successful season by the club.

The Junior committee announced that junior cricket practice will start on April 27 and registration will begin at 5.30pm in the clubhouse.

After a friendly fixture at Blackpool last week Todmorden prepare for the start of the season with two similar fixtures at Centre Vale this weekend.

Yesterday they entertained Didsbury and on today (Sunday) Halifax League side Booth.
