AFTER a delayed start to the new season TSC opened their fixtures in the first round of the County Cup.
The team has benefited from a number of new players and even though this was the first game the signs were good against the more established visitors.
The squad is now bigger with none of the players being sure of a starting place.
This competition for places saw TSC set off like a house on fire. The speed of the home attack created a number of chances.
Tansey opened the scoring from a Hosker cross and scored a second following a neat Irving pass.
Holden scored the third after great build up play and Roberts finished off the first half with a cool finish. The second half continued in the same vein. Roberts with an almost identical finish making it five.
The Irish did have periods of dominance but they were unable to break the solid defence led by Brearley, Ridout, Kershaw, Broadbent and Caldwell.
Tansey and Ashton scored to make the score seven which gave an indication of the home team’s dominance and provided great optimism for the season ahead.
