The concert will open with a performance of Confirma Hoc Deus by Salieri. This work has enabled the choir to find soloists from within its members. It has also allowed Tim Benjamin to exercise his skill in arranging some of the score. The result is a combination of skills spanning the centuries which does credit to the musical talents found in Todmorden.

This will be followed by a performance of Mozart’s Symphony no. 39 in E flat major. Mozart needs no introduction and this work is amongst his most pleasing.

After the interval the Choir will join with the Orchestra in the Requiem in C minor by Cherubini. This work was written to commemorate the execution of King Louis XV1.

The musical director is Antony Brannick. Tickets are £6 and £8, available from choir members, the Todmorden Information Centre and on line from [email protected]
