For the past twelve years Hannah Lawson has divided her time between working on expedition cruise ships as a wildlife guide, zodiac driver and expedition leader and creating artwork in her from her studio in Hebden Bridge.
Her latest journey took her through the middle of the Atlantic to visit the remote British overseas territories of St Helena and Tristan da Cunha, before visiting the Falkland Islands, Tierra del Fuego and then travelling along the West Coast of South America, through the Panama Canal and back into the Atlantic.
From the penguins of the Southern Ocean, through the pelicans of Peru to the primates of Ecuador and Costa Rica she photographed the weird and wonderful wildlife encountered both on land and at sea.
An exhibition of her photographs and prints will run at the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival Shop in Albert Street from Friday to Sunday, April 13 to 15, from 11am to 5pm daily, with an evening opening on Thursday, April 12, from 7pm to 9pm.
