A series of informal concerts returns with the first recital of the new year.

Antony Brannick and his musical friends are starting 2014 with a new season of informal chamber music concerts involving local musicians.

The first takes place on Saturday, January 25, at 7.30pm at the Central Methodist Church in Bramsche Square, Todmorden.

On this occasion his principal guest is Andrew Rostron (violin) well-known locally as leader of Todmorden Orchestra.

Music by Bach, Franck and Haydn is expected to feature in the programme.

Speaking about the concerts, which were first held several years ago, Antony said: “I like the informal and relaxed atmosphere of these evenings.

“It helps both performers and audience alike and there is a real connection between the two.”

There is no admission charge and refreshments will be provided.

A retiring collection helps to meet expenses. All are welcome.
