Parisian jazz takes centre stage at Todmorden Orchestra’s concert in the Town Hall on June 25 at 7.30pm.
In an exciting and rare opportunity to hear a piano concerto performed in the town, the orchestra will be joined by Syrian pianist Riyad Nicolas. Since making his solo debut with an orchestra in Aleppo at the age of ten, Riyad has given many solo and orchestral performances.
Pieces include Ravel’s piano concerto; Debussy’s L’apres midi d’un faune; the concert suite from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake; Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours and Berlioz, Faust: Hungarian March. The concert will be conducted by Nicholas Concannon-Hodges with leader Andrew Rostron.
