Pioneering folk star Kate Rusby will close this year’s Hebden Bridge Arts Festival with a one off show at the town’s Picture House.
Kate who has produced a series of trailblazing best-selling albums fusing her traditional roots with influences from more contemporary genres makes the short trip from her Barnsley base to close the event on Sunday, July 3.
Arts Festival Director Helen Meller said: ‘This is a dream way for us to close the festival and it will be one of the first gigs in the refurbished Picture House.”
Kate burst onto the British folk scene with her debut album Hourglass and her duet All Over Again with Ronan Keating made the top 10.
As well as hits from a twenty year career Rusby will also be showcasing songs from her last studio album Ghost, which fans reckon is up there with her best work.
