A CONCERT is being held to raise funds for AFC - formerly the National Children’s Home.
AFC is a Methodist charity, established in 1869 to help disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and the concert is on Saturday October 1, in Mytholmroyd Methodist Church, starting at 7pm.
It features the group Forever Young, who have been performing gigs for various charities for several years and are always very popular. The four members of the Forever Young group are Hal Clarkson, Martin Parrott, Albie Harrup and Simon Keane. The songs performed by Forever Young are in the style of country and folk music. Some of them are well-known, some are songs written by group members.
AFC co-ordinator Fay Fielding said: “All the funds are being used to help with projects in the Yorkshire area to help young people. It is hoped that this concert will boost the funds further and will also raise awareness of the sterling work done by the AFC.”
Tickets are £5, which includes light refreshments. They may be obtained from Fay Fielding, telephone 01422 882258, or on the door on concert night.
