LOCAL youngsters will be starring in a seasonal variety show between Christmas and New Year - and there may still be a role for some adults too!
Following on from the success of their show last year, Calder Valley based StoryMagic presents a Festive Family Variety Show at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre on December 29, 30 and 31 with performances at 11am and 3pm each day.
Katrina Heath, of StoryMagic, said: “The Magic of Christmas uses music, dancing and magic to celebrate this special time of year. With the first half delighting audiences with extracts from Christmas parties, Christmas dinner and a nativity the second half celebrates that uniquely British entertainment, the pantomime.
“This year the audience are invited to take part in a storybook pantomime version of Cinderella. A chorus of local children will provide the musical numbers alongside Rachel Rogers as The Fairy Godmother. All other parts will be played by members of the audience! Fun loving dads, uncles and grandads will be in particular demand to play the Ugly Sisters.”
If you want to be in the show, or just enjoy watching everyone else, call Hebden Bridge Visitor Centre on 01422 843831. Tickets are priced £8 for adults and £6 for under 16s
Another StoryMagic innovation, the toddler friendly performance, has been extended to every 11am performance.
“For this performance we keep the house lights on and avoid bangs and flashes. It’s perfect for a first theatre experience or for nervy children.”
