Firefighters in Calderdale tackled a house fire involving a cooker this evening,

Crews from Rastrick and Odsal were called today (April 14) at 5.25pm to Salisbury Place in Boothtown.

The fire involved a cooker appliance in a property as two people suffered smoke inhalation.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews have used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus and a high powered fan to clear smoke from the property.

"Two occupants suffered minor smoke inhalation and were treated on scene by paramedics but did not go to hospital."
