Whilst conducting speed checks in the regular hot spots in response to community requests, Ward Officer for North Halifax PC Illingworth was shocked and appalled when one driver was recorded travelling at 51 mph on Cousin Lane,
The legal speed limit on the road is 20 mph.
A spokesperson for the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing team said: "Please maintain your speed to the limit on the roads.

Hide Ad"The total stopping distance at 20 mph is 12 metres (40 ft) but at 50 mph this increases to 53 metres (175 ft).
"You could be the best driver in the world but you cannot control other drivers/pedestrians actions.
"Please show consideration to all road users and pedestrians, this driver is likely to attend court to the mercy of the Magistrate."
