Yorkshire debut for new film
Set and filmed entirely in Yorkshire, the tense and clever drama '˜The Incident' will be shown at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Saturday - and will be introduced by the director Jane Linfoot.
‘The Incident’ is the debut feature from shorts director Jane, who was BAFTA-nominated for ‘Sea View’ in 2014. There will be a Q&A session with Jane and cast member Tasha Connor after the screening.
In the film a successful young couple (Ruta Gedmintas and Tom Hughes) see their affluent, sheltered lifestyle unravel when they ignore the plight of a troubled teenage girl (Tasha Connor, in a breakout role).
The Sunday Mirror described the film as ‘a tense and cleverly off-kilter drama, elegantly shot and astutely thought-provoking’.
Jane, who comes from north Yorkshire, said: “ ‘The Incident’ is a personal story, told visually, that felt very timely, haunting and emotive.
“I’m no painter, poet, musician or philosopher but when making films I feel like I’m being given an insight into all of these disciplines, which is a privilege.”
The film was shot in a variety of locations in Yorkshire, including Dewsbury, Slaithwaite, Honley and Farnley Hay.
“The Incident’ was released by BirdsEyeView on November 25 and the screening at Hebden Bridge Picture House on December 3 is one of its first public viewings.
The doors open at 7.30pm with the full programme starting at 7.45pm. Jane Linfoot will give a short introduction to the film and answer questions at the end.
