Halifax Gilbert & Sullivan Society put the frighteners on weekend shoppers as they publicise their latest production Ruddigore (also known as The Witches Curse) which opens on Tuesday October 20 at Halifax Playhouse.
This classic take on Gothic melodrama is filled with Gilbert wit and super Sullivan scores and improbable situations - a roving gang of professional bridesmaids, a Witch’s curse that forces a line of Baronets to do an evil deed every day,an eligible girl who just won’t get married, ancestral ghosts playing havoc and more. Performances are Tuesday Oct 20 to Friday Oct 23 (7.30pm). Saturday Oct 24, matinee 2.30pm. Tickets £13, Concessions £11. Children £5 Wed to Sat. Sat Matinee all adults £11.
