Soul session is a Ginger and Eddie reunion

Dancers, and listeners, are advised to get there early when top northern soul DJ Ginger Taylor headlines a free date at Nelson’s Wine Bar, Crown Street, Hebden Bridge, on Friday night (December 4, 8.30pm to 1am).

It’s a near hometown date for the Todmordren based DJ - with fellow Todmordian soul men Bob Smith and Staz also taking spells at the decks - but it is also a Ginger and Eddie reunion. For most of the 70s Ginger and Eddie Antemes came as a pair at northern soul hotspots, and in turn fans flocked to Todmorden and their legendary dates at venues like the Todmorden Ukrainian Club.

Since then Eddie has taken a step back from the limelight while Ginger is as busy as ever, most recently topping the bill at Newcastle, so it is a rare opportunity to see them back in tandem for a night of great sounds.

Ginger says: “This one is a rare Ginger and Eddie reunion, so I’d advise people to get there early. It won’t just be northern soul, there will be lots of Motown and club soul too.”
