Business meeting takes to the stage
Members were given a short presentation on the history of the listed building and the Halifax thespians, a tour of the building, and watched the rehearsal of the current production Le Grand Return.
In addition, author, hospital radio DJ and former football league referee, Trevor Simpson gave an entertaining and enlightening talk on the Halifax music scene of the 1950s and 1960s, and how the dance halls in the town vied with each other to attract such stars as the Kinks, Hermans Hermits, Shirley Bassey, Jerry Lee Lewis and even Michael Jackson with the Jackson 5.
