Following the Government-enforced closure, bosses at The Millers Bar have been working on detailed reopening plans for the last few weeks ahead of their relaunch last week.

Table service, online booking for visits, one-way systems, social distancing, staff in PPE and hand sanitising stations are all part of the new procedures in place allowing the pub to once again thrown open its doors.

The pub is strongly recommending all visits are pre-booked where customers can enjoy a two hour slot Wednesday to Sunday with tables available to reserve both indoors and out in the popular extensive canal-side beer garden. Walk-ins will be accepted, but on a first come, first served basis if they have space given the reduced capacity for social distancing.

All key areas will be cleaned between sittings, as well extra sanitising of busy touchpoints regularly throughout the day.

Lydia Taylor, general manager of The Millers Bar, said: “A lot of thought and planning has gone into our reopening so customers can be reassured we are a quality, trusted place to visit for food, drinks and happier times after what has been a challenging few months for everyone.

“The one thing we’ve missed the most during lockdown has been our customers, many of which we’re used to seeing on a weekly basis. So to see everyone again has given us all a lift and I hope by visiting Millers again it will raise their spirits too. Our menu features all the key choices we know people love including our popular cajun chicken wrap, fish and chips and wild boar with chorizo burger – and I’m sure a lot of people will agree it will be nice to have someone else to cook for them after such a long time!”

The pub will be open 12pm to 10pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm to 8pm Sundays
