“There has always been a great atmosphere and people have enjoyed themselves year after year which is why they keep coming back.

“We are hoping to have a barbecue again and provide children’s entertainment so it really is a family event for everyone to enjoy.

“For the last three years we have been running the highly successful event which is well supported by the community and by those living further afield.

“We are fortunate to also be well supported by the bands who return each year to perform for free in aid of the year’s nominated charities.

“We pride ourselves on being a part of the community, and as part of this commitment we like to give back to those less fortunate than us.”

Despite the poor weather condtions overnight, last year’s event saw more than 650 people attend the festival on Ashday Lane where they supported the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice and Homestart Calderdale.

During Ramfest’s short history they have donated over £3,000 to their nominated charities.

This year they will be supporting Help for Heroes and the Motor Neurone Disease Association who perform research into the disease and support people who suffer from it.

A spokesman from the association said: “Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a devastating disease that kills five people every day and has no cure, we are delighted that the Ramfest music festival is supporting us by raising much needed awareness and vital funds to help us improve life for people affected by MND and one day find a cure.”
