Anti-social yobs could be banned from communities this weekend

Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team will issue Dispersal Orders this weekend after receiving numerous reports of groups of antisocial youths causing issues in Ovenden and Lee Mount.

This means that anyone behaving in an antisocial manner or causing residents to feel threatened will be served a notice and will not be permitted to return to the area for 48 hours.

Anyone under 16-years-old will be taken home as the notice must be served in the presence of your parent or carer.

Groups of young people not causing any trouble will not be affected. Local youth workers also be patrolling the area.

Antisocial behaviour can be reported to the police on 101 (999 in an emergency).

Alternatively, residents can help police build up a picture of where the worst antisocial behaviour hotspots are by emailing information to [email protected]
