Calderdale police probe launched after men with baseball bats seen in four high speed cars

Detectives investigating disorder in a Calderdale town have executed seven warrants this afternoon.

It follows a report of four vehicles being driven at high speed on Bentley Avenue, Lightcliffe, at around 7.10pm last night.

A further report was received that males in the vehicles were in possession of baseball bats.

Later, a car was found to be damaged on Shirley Grove.

Officers searched seven properties in the area today in connection with the disorder and with a similar incident of disorder last week.

West Yorkshire police confirmed there will be extra officers and extra police patrols in Brighouse over the coming days to offer reassurance to the community.
