Kitchen utensils valued at £2,500 stolen from wagon

Calderdale police are warning lorry drivers to secure their vehicles after an increase in thefts from curtain sided wagons across the area.

Overnight on September 16 and 17, a curtain sided wagon was parked up on the Eastbound car park of Hartshead Moor Services, Brighouse junction of the M62.

The driver was asleep in the cab when the curtain side was slashed, and £2,500 worth of kitchen utensils contained in five large boxes were removed.

Officers are advising drivers to be mindful of where to park their vehicles overnight.
