Man attacked on way home from Halifax town centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked as he walked home through Halifax town centre.

The 24-year-old victim was walking along John Street, behind the Acapulco nightclub, between 11.30pm and midnight on Saturday, April 26, when he was struck once to the back of the head, causing him to fall to the floor. He did not see his attacker.

The victim suffered a large gash to the head which required hospital treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

Detective Constable Craig Aubrey, of Calderdale CID, said: “I would urge anyone who was in this area who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us.”
