The officers involved in the arrest were not injured.

A spokesperson for the NPT said: "A number of videos are circulating on social media of the incident and subsequent arrest which was witnessed by numerous people.

"We would like to clarify that this incident did NOT involve customers at any licensed premises in Halifax as has been assumed by many.

"Once again we thank those members of the public who intervened and assisted officers in safely arresting the offenders."
