Police release two men held over armed raid pending further enquiries

Two men arrested in connection with an armed raid in Hebden Bridge have been released pending further enquiries.

The incident happened at 11.30am on Thursday, May 16, when two men armed with a sledgehammer raised Riverstones in Crown Street, escaping with four rings of high value.

The duo trapped staff and customers in the back of the shop with threats of violence, before smashing a cabinet window at the front of the building and grabbing the jewellery.

West Yorkshire Police arrested two men, aged 24 and 33, both believed to be from the Lancashire area in relation to the robbery, but have now released them
