A man has suffered burns and smoke inhalation during a Halifax house blaze.

Firefighters were called to Woodside Road in Halifax at 11.17am yesterday (June 7).

A set aof curtains had caught fire and was put out by the time fire crews arrived at the scene..

The man suffered burns to hand and smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by fire crews prior to the arrival of ambulance.

WYFRS said no smoke detectors were fitted at the property and installed new detectors before leaving the property.

Appliances from Halifax, Illingworth and Odsal attended the incident.
