Gary Barlow brands Halifax crowd "one of the loudest he's heard" after sell-out gig

Pop superstar Gary Barlow wowed an adoring crowd at the Victoria Theatre last night, later calling them one of the loudest crowds he's ever heard.

No fewer than 15 ardent fans camped outside the venue overnight in order to get the best possible view of the former Take That front man, with a trio of fans taking position 36 hours before the doors opened.

He later tweeted that it had been an "amazing night" and that the Halifax faithful had been "one of the loudest audiences so far".

It's the latest in a long line of big-name musical stars to have enjoyed the Halifax atmosphere, with Kasabian, Florence and the Machine and James having played 'the Vic' in recent weeks.

And it won't stop there. The Piece Hall is entering into the concert market with Grammy-award winning singer songwriter Father John Misty headlining a bumper event on Saturday, which will be kicked off by Halifax's very own The Orielles.
