‘Happy Larry’ Sally is winner at TV awards
Happy Valley won Best Drama Series and its creator, Sally Wainwright, pictured, won Best Writer at the televised awards ceremony in London.
The popular and gripping BBC drama was also nominated in the categories: Leading Actress - Sarah Lancashire, pictured; Supporting Actor - James Norton; and Director Fiction - Euros Lyn.

Hide AdThe popular series went up against The Missing, Line of Duty and Peaky Blinders at the awards.
Photographed, is Wainwright, who grew up in Sowerby Bridge, collecting the golden award on Sunday (May 10).
Sally Wainwright - creator, writer and executive producer of Happy Valley, said: “I am thrilled to bits and so proud that we’ve received five Bafta nominations - with two wins - for a show that’s set right in the heart of West Yorkshire.
“Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area looked so beautiful and dramatic on screen. Without doubt the landscape added enormously to the appeal and authenticity of show.”
The police drama will return for a second series later this year.
