Sally Wainwright - creator, writer and executive producer of Happy Valley, said: “I am thrilled to bits and so proud that we’ve received five Bafta nominations - with two wins - for a show that’s set right in the heart of West Yorkshire.

Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area looked so beautiful and dramatic on screen. Without doubt the landscape added enormously to the appeal and authenticity of show.”

The police drama will return for a second series later this year.
