“Everyone was really keen to support it. People didn’t want a funfair so we had charity stalls and lots of smaller games, not just tombolas, and made sure there was something for everyone.
“There was live music at both ends of field for people to enjoy and the children were dancing to it.
“It was incredibly successful.”

The gala committee consists of Chair Barnaby Neale, Vice Chair Councillor Scott Patient and Secretary Kim Whymark who were helped on the day by a host of volunteers including some Mytholmroyd Flood Wardens.
Barnaby said: “Mytholmroyd has had a tough time with the roadworks and the flood improvements and this was a chance for the community to let their hair down.”
