Calderdale police operation launched as non essential shops reopen in Halifax

Operation Hailside is being conducted in Halifax Town Centre over the coming days.

A spokesperson for the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "The objective of the operation is to support the newly re-opened shops.

"As part of facilitating the social distancing to protect shoppers the council have implemented a number of road closures.

"Part of the restrictions include the restriction on Market Street which limits the access of vehicles along that route.

"Officers are in attendance enforcing these restrictions and will continue to do so over the period of the operation.

"Please be aware that there are a number of restricted bus/taxi routes throughout the Town that are clearly signposted. Please don’t get caught out."
