The special event held on Southgate in the town centre gave the public the opportunity to show their appreciation for military personnel from the past and present.

As well as meeting representatives visitors were given the chance to take photos with tanks, motorbikes and jeeps.

The day was also intended to help educate the public on what life is like for our Armed Forces.

Locals were able to hold weapons and interact with an assortment of equipment including gas masks.

There was a range of uniforms on display from modern clothing to what soldiers would have worn during the Second World War.

The Mayor of Calderdale, Coun Marcus Thompson officially opened proceedings.
