Small change can make a difference

Small change donated by members of Yorkshire building society is being put up for grabs in a £100,000 giveaway – and members of the public in Brighouse are being asked to help decide how the money should be spent.

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation will launch its Small Change Big Difference Week on Monday, August 17, and colleagues at the society’s local branch are hoping residents will pay them a visit to nominate charities in the community to receive a share of the huge donation.

All nominations received by Saturday, August 22, will then be considered by the foundation’s trustees to receive a £100 share of the £100,000 giveaway.

Benjamin Merritt, manager at the Brighouse branch said: “We’re really looking forward to taking part in this year’s Small Change Big Difference Week and can’t wait to hand over donations to successful charities and good causes in our local community.

“This campaign is a perfect opportunity to help some of the smaller causes that can often be overlooked for donations, and to whom £100 can go a long way. I really hope people will take a minute to pop into the branch and support a cause close to their heart.”

The £100,000 donation has been made possible through the participation of Society members in the Small Change Big Difference sheme.
