Bridge closure in Brighouse due to safety fears
Diversions are in place through Brighouse town centre as Anchor Bridge has been closed for safety reasons
The A643 Briggate has been closed due to issues with the bridge.
Calderdale Council has said their highways team is currently investigating the problems and work could continue over the weekend.
The duration of the closure depends on the repair work needed. The road will be reopened again as soon as it’s safe.
Drivers are advised to follow the diversion signs.
