In series two of Last Tango in Halifax, main characters Celia and Alan got married at Halifax Registry Office. Although they didnt go to the real office at Spring Hall they could be seen on Princess Street in the town centre.
In Happy Valley, the first time Calderdale sergeant Catherine Cawood sees Tommy Lee Royce after he was released from prison outside a takeaway on Tuel Lane in Sowerby Bridge.
West View Park, Halifax was used in the second series of Happy Valley. Called Crow Wood Park in the show, police sergeant Catherine Cawood is called out to a gruesome death in the park.
Alan and daughter Gillian pay a visit to the grounds around Blackley Baptist Church in series two of Last Tango in Halifax. They visited the memorial of Alans first wife ahead of his marriage to Celia.
Series one of Happy Valley gave us some very graphic scenes and none more so than the attack of police officer Kirstie McAskill. This took place on Health Hill Road between Warley and Wainstalls.
When Tommy Lee Royce was on the run at the end of series one, his hide out was down on the Rochdale Canal in Hebden Bridge. Filming also took place further down the canal in Sowerby Bridge for Last Tango.
In the third series of Last Tango in Halifax, Alan was surprised to discover that he had a son called Gary. The pair met for the first time in Upstairs Downstairs cafe in Halifax town centre.
The second of series of Happy Valley began with the death of Tommy Lee Royces mum Lynn Dewhurst and in the second episode her funeral took place at Park Wood Crematorium, Elland.
The Calderdale Way featured a number of times throughout the three series of Last Tango in Halifax. Often characters could be seen driving down the road, passing Elland and heading into Halifax.
In Happy Valley series two, Catherine met with businessman Nevison Gallagher to discuss serious matters at the Old Fire Station Cafe which is located right in the centre of Elland.
Holdsworth House in Holmfield has been visited a few times by film crews over the years. The venue featured heavily throughout the second series of Last Tango in Halifax and was the location of Celia and Alan's second wedding.
The Moorings in Sowerby Bridge played a part in the second series of Happy Valley when one of the characters, Neil Ackroyd, caused a scene after having a bit too much to drink.
Sally Wainwright's latest drama, Gentleman Jack, will soon be hitting our screens. It is set at Shibden Hall and a lot of scenes were filmed there, as well as other locations across Yorkshire. Coming to BBC in spring.
