The Acapulco, on Waterhouse Street, which has been dubbed as 'the oldest night club in the UK', will temporarily remain closed until further notice after shutting its doors for the first in its 59-year history back in March.
A spokesman from the venue said the decision to remain closed is due to health and safety concerns amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"We have prepared for a reopen with many policies and procedures put in place and are ready for opening safely.
"We're waiting for further guidance from the Government, and Government based task forces before we open.
"We have been inundated with messages of support from many of our customers, all wanting to know when we will be reopened, and currently we don't have a date, we hope however this will be in the near future.
