Giantkillers unable to stage repeat

There was no repeat of the first round heroics from Bradshaw and Shelf in yesterday’s second round of the Halifax Parish Cup.

Bradshaw had knocked out holders Copley but they were no match for champions and last year’s beaten finalists Jer Lane.

Dean Cotton’s side were bowled out for 111 and lost by nine wickets.

Shelf, who had beaten Blackley from two divisions higher in round one, were unable to add the scalp of Premier side Sowerby Bridge. The visitors won by 105 runs.

There were a couple of minor upsets with Sowerby St Peters and Great Horton Park Chapel beating opponents from the section above.

Crossley Shield holders Warley progressed by a massive 229 run margin against neighbours SBCI.
