First-half goals from Michael Petrasso and Anthony Wordsworth condenmed Town to back-to-back defeats, with Jeff King netting for the visitors.

"You can't give away two stupid goals and then start trying to play away from home," said Wild.

"I actually thought our general play (was good), we created chance after chance after chance, and we looked a threat, one the front foot throughout.

"But when you go and give them two gifts, you're going to find it very difficult to get back in the football match.

"Don't get me wrong, at 0-0 we have a nailed on penalty not given that could change the course of the game.

"Fair play, it was their night. Having watched them over the last few weeks, that's been coming.

"They won't be bottom of the league for long. Tim (Flowers) has got them excellently organised and they'll start taking points off people, and they've started with us tonight.

"But general play, yeah decent, front foot, I thought we moved the ball well, we created chance after chance, their defenders are throwing their bodies on the line in the box, blocking our shots in the box.

"If you cut out the silly mistakes, we come away with a 1-0 win, but we've gifted them two goals and you can't start from a 2-0 deficit and expect to get anything away from home."

Wild said goalkeeper Sam Johnson should have done better for Barnet's opener.

"It starts before that, we don't lock onto their player, he's allowed to travel 20 yards and then, yeah, it's a mistake by the goalkeeper," said Wild.

"He's just got to put his cap on it and unfortunately he hasn't done that."

And Wild was unhappy at his team's hesitancy for Barnet's second.

"We've just got to clear the ball in our own third," he said. "We've been pressed, we can't bring the ball down all the time, we've got to understand this.

"It's not as though it's the first minute of the game and you're caught unawares, it's the 40th minute, you've just got to hook the ball clear.

"We haven't done it and it's not good enough."

When asked what he had said to his players after the game, Wild said: "Unless we cut out the silly mistakes we're going to find it very difficult to win football matches.

"Our general play, not bad, we can't rely on our centre-forwards scoring two and three goals every week, we've got to shut the back door.

"We've been working for the last ten days on our out-of-possession and how we defend.

"But technically and tactically, I can't stop mistakes like that."

On the penalty appeal for his team, Wild said: "Tahvon's been kicked from behind, it's a clear penalty, I've seen it back.

"That's at 0-0 and that changes the course of the game, which is very frustrating."

The Town boss felt his side had done enough to get something from the match.

"Yeah, probably no more than a point, don't get me wrong," he said.

"But we had enough chances to equalise.

"You take the penalty we should've had into consideration.

"But fair play, it's their night. I thought they were very workmanlike and harassed us for the whole 90 minutes.

"If they continue to play like that I don't think they'll be bottom for very long."
