Town are unbeaten in seven matches and sit fifth in the National League North, five points off second-placed Salford with two games in hand.

Halifax beat Boston 4-1 in the reverse fixture in October with two goals apiece from Tom Denton and Alex Simmons, who now plays for Boston on loan - his third spell with the club.

Since their defeat to Halifax, Boston have parted company with previous boss Dennis Greene and appointed ex-Mansfield manager Adam Murray. He has had 11 games in charge so far, winning four, drawing two and losing five.

They have kept just five clean sheets all season and suffered a 9-2 defeat at Fylde in November.

They have ex-Halifax players Nat Brown, Waide Fairhurst and Jason St Juste in their squad, but have also lost star midfielder Liam Agnew to Harrogate since they last played Halifax.

The Shaymen should have Nathan Hotte available after his spell on the sidelines through injury, but winger Josh Macdonald has been ruled out for at least three weeks with a hamstring problem.
