FC Halifax Town: Wild not prepared to add new players until fate of season is resolved

At the start of the month, National League clubs were given 28 days in which to vote on whether to cancel the season or carry on playing.
Clubs have been offered long-term loans to allow football to continue, but many have said they would rather null and void the season rather than take on debt, having been given grants in order to start the season.

On striker Lewis Mansell, who has returned to parent club Accrington after his loan spell at The Shay, Wild said: “He was steady away for us, he came in and really helped us at a time of need, a top lad.

“I feel like he’ll only grow as a player when he goes back, but until we know what’s happening with the league and we have clarity on the situation, we’re not prepared to bring anybody in.

“We know who we want, we’ve had initial discussions with people we want, but we’re not prepared to do anything until we know what’s going on.

“There’s clubs out there who are doing business and it just makes me laugh. I don’t know how you can think you want to do business with a player, and I think you’re selling a player down an alley that might not be there.

“Until we know for sure we won’t be doing anything.”
