Boreham Wood called off their scheduled game at home to Torquay United this weekend due to the shared use of their ground with Arsenal, whose manager Mikel Arteta tested positive for coronavirus.

Halifax lost 1-0 at home to Ebbsfeet on Saturday in the only televised football match in Britain this weekend, with the National League opting to allow their fixtures to go ahead, despite the Premier League and the Football League being among several sporting bodies to suspend their activities.

Chief Executive Officer of The National League, Michael Tattersall, said on Saturday night that they were constantly reviewing the situation and would provide a further update in due course.

The issue seems to have divided the league, with some managers like Barrow's Ian Evatt, Chesterfield's John Pemberton and Eastleigh's Ben Strevens voicing their opposition to the division carrying on, but Halifax boss Pete Wild backing the decision to allow games to be played.

Six National League games were called off over the weekend due to the virus, with Barrow's trip to Barnet on Tuesday also being postponed due to both clubs having players in self-isolation.

Halifax's next scheduled game is at Hartlepool on Saturday, but with pressure seemingly mounting from clubs within the league, and the virus spreading across the country, that looks increasingly unlikely to go ahead.
