Heath appoints King as new Town skipper

Town boss Billy Heath has named Liam King as his captain at The Shay.

King skippered North Ferriby to promotion last season and has captained Halifax during their unbeaten run in pre-season.

On his decision to appoint King, Heath, who confirmed defender Kevin Roberts is the club’s vice-captain, said: “He’s a winner. He’s calm, he knows when to gee players up and he leads by example.

“He’s not necessarily on to scream and shout but you’ll get a seven out of ten performance from him every week.”

Heath also confirmed he was hoping to add a new signing to his squad before Saturday’s season-opener at Nuneaton.
