Halifax Paralympian Hannah Cockroft signs up to sports fundraiser
The virtual fundraiser is aiming to raise £100,000 to be split 50/50 between Halifax RLFC and a grants program for junior sports in the town. The junior grants program will be managed by Community Foundation For Calderdale, and depending on the amount raised, the hope is there will be grants of between £500 and £2,000 per recipient. The event will be broadcast online at around 3pm on May 9 and 10 and will be a mixture of interviews, sports, comedy and music, while there will also be competitions and prizes.
Other names who have already confirmed their involvement, Damian Gibson, Andrew Dunneman, Des Clarke, Greg Florimo, Gavin Clinch, Brett Goldspink, Luke Ambler from Halifax Rugby League. From the world of entertainment Lea Roberts, Pete Emmett and Darran Jackson have all got behind the event with more names from the football, music and sports world to be announced shortly.
